What to put in a quotation
- Your business details and the customer's name
- A quotation number (QT-0001…), the date and a valid until date — prices change, so a quotation shouldn't stay open for ever
- Every item or job with quantity and rate, any discount and tax, and the total
- Notes such as delivery time, advance payment or what is not included
Quotations for construction, installation and services
Contractors, electricians, solar and AC installers, interior designers and suppliers send quotations before a job. List labour and material on separate lines so the customer can see where the money goes, and add a note about the advance you need.
When the customer says yes
Turn the quotation into an invoice with the same items. In the InvoiceMate app that's one tap — the quotation converts into an invoice and you can send it on WhatsApp straight away.
Questions
What is the difference between a quotation and an invoice?
A quotation is an offer: the price you will charge if the customer agrees. An invoice asks for payment after the sale or job is agreed or done.
How long should a quotation be valid?
Commonly 7 to 30 days. Set the valid-until date so the customer knows the prices may change after that.
Can I make a quotation in Urdu?
Yes. Choose اردو as the document language.
Can I convert a quotation into an invoice?
In the free InvoiceMate app, yes — one tap turns an accepted quotation into an invoice with the same items.
